Malivoire Wine Company 2008 White & 2008 Red - $14.95

Today is a rarity on the Weekly Wine Note, a two-fer: two-fer-the-price-of-one. The upcoming week looks like it's going to be "mostly sunny" across the province of Ontario and I have some good news for you, something coming out of Malivoire to an LCBO near you.

The Tasting Notes (White): The white is a blend of Gewurztraminer, Chardonnay and Riesling. The nose is floral, apple, pear, peach and tropically fruited, and what you get on the nose follows on the palate with a spicy tingle – this is an easy sipping wine that’s delightful and calls for hot weather. Price: $14.95 – Rating: ****½

The Tasting Notes (Red): The red, a mix a Merlot Cabernet Sauvignon and Gamay, come together wonderfully with the simplicity of black fruit on the nose, while the palate shows more complexity: red fruit, spice, cinnamon, herbs, black cherry and more spice. Lovely. Price: $14.95 – Rating: ****½
